In pictures: Ostang Bou street, Kashgar
KASHGAR is a remote town in Xinjiang, one of the final calling points in China before the isolated and rugged region gives way to mountains and finally Pakistan.
Despite its remote location Kashgar has long been a thriving market town where arts and crafts have been practiced for centuries.
One of the streets to find craftsmen still at work is Ostang Bou street where men beat out copper, make bread, sort wool and design and test instruments. Here are some images from the crafts of the street.
