World Cup fans junk up Haeundae Beach, block traffic

A few rowdy Korean fans made trouble in Busan after their team made it into the round of 16 by going into the streets and blocking traffic with their celebrations, plus leaving behind plenty of litter and fan paraphanelia on the beach itself. Similar scenes played out in Seoul and elsewhere, with `대~한민국’ chanting fans jumping on top of other people’s cars.

However, the worst incident reported so far is the drowning death of a 20-year-old college student in Yeouido, who died while celebrating by jumping into the Han River with three friends. The reporter somewhat callously followed that news immediately with a quote from an office worker complaining of how annoying the celebrations are.
