The latest in a long line of architectural oddities is this doughnut-shaped Sheraton hotel in Huzhou, about 100 miles west of Shanghai. Pic courtesy of Sheraton."][/caption] Indeed, Shanghai's soon-to-be-completed tallest building in China, Shanghai Tower, will also be home to a luxury hotel, so no shortage of new accommodation options popping up in that area. (READ MORE: Shanghai Tower: China’s tallest building to house luxury hotel) Though not officially opening until later this year or early 2014, rooms are already available at the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Springs Resort, dubbed the 'Horseshoe Hotel', and cost about $400 per night. As well as the eye-catching architecture - the design is by Beijing-born architect Ma Yansong - the Sheraton offers five-star luxury, amazing views, fine dining, and all the rest. However, the hotel website does warn that not all facilities will be available until the end of September: "Until September 30, 2013, some of the facilities and services will be temporarily unavailable; however, guests will be able to enjoy Feast restaurant, Yue restaurant, The Lobby Lounge, the indoor pool, Sheraton Fitness, Shine Spa for Sheraton and the banquet facilities." Despite not being fully operational yet, it is already ranked the top hotel in Huzhou on TripAdvisor. The scenery is good enough to earn itself a spot in the acclaimed 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' movie. Bamboo forests abound, as do the hot springs of the hotel's name. With its location between Shanghai and Nanjing, Huzhou is easy to get to and the Sheraton Huzhoug Hot Spring Resort has a ready-made market among the Shanghai and Nanjing weekend crowds.
